Faction Pictures Online

Sorry kids, but Faction Pictures is temporarily down. I'm redesigning the site, and I hope to have it up sooner than later. But for now, I've kept the bare essentials up.

Who am I? Erik Ribeiro. Officially I'm a graphic designer for KPRC-TV, the NBC affiliate in Houston, Texas. In addition to design, I spend a lot of time scripting Photoshop, so I can spend less time using Photoshop. On the side (and sometimes at work), I'm a 3D modeler, animator, motion designer, videographer, and independent producer. To get my head around the constantly changing world of computer-based video production and post-production, I am also a trainer. I train unofficially, and sometimes officially in Photoshop, After Effects, and Liquid. I also write, compose, record and mix my own music, though I rarely have time since it pays dirt.

Wondering what I'm up to these days? ...my neck in new software to learn: Maxwell Render, modo 301, RealFlow 4, Lightwave 9.3 and Cinema 4D 10.5. A couple of times a week, I'm hopping between Vegas, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro and occasionally speedEDIT.

I know lots of you have been asking to see my work from KPRC. I'm finally posting some of it here:
MPEG4 - should play fine in Quicktime 7 (640x480 35MB - right-click on the PC or control-click on the Mac to download)

OK, I haven't updated the personal reel in years. But I still find it relevant to some. If you are one of those people, download one of the following:

Need to contact me? For now, the best way is via email to erik@factionpictures.com. For security reasons and due to unwanted spam, I've removed my online resume. If you'd like a copy, please email me, and I'll send you one.
